Meet Jessi Welch
The Official Stuff
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and my work is grounded in understanding how the world around us shapes who we are, including our thoughts, emotions, and the ways we show up in life. I earned my Master of Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans and my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, children, and teens from many different backgrounds. I’ve seen firsthand that no two people experience life or therapy in the same way. That’s why I believe in creating a space that’s flexible, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs and goals.
My experience includes supporting people through a wide range of challenges, from emotional ups and downs and anxiety to suicidal thoughts and self-harming behaviors. I’ve also worked closely with at-risk and justice-involved youth, as well as children and families navigating major life changes or difficult environments.
More than anything, my goal is to meet you where you are. I see therapy as a place to unpack what’s been heavy, make sense of what’s been confusing, and find a way forward that feels authentic to you. Together, we’ll work toward helping you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
What I love about this Work
I am passionate about building genuine connections and
earning the trust of my clients so that we can work together to promote growth, healing, and empowerment. While beginning therapy can feel daunting, I find deep meaning in being present with clients as they navigate some of life’s most difficult moments. Witnessing the spark of hope and confidence return to a client’s eyes as they begin to believe that life can be meaningful and fulfilling is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
The Unofficial Stuff
When I’m not in the therapy room, I love spending time outdoors, soaking up the sun, exploring nearby parks, and going for long walks or runs. If it’s too hot outside (I’m still adjusting to those Houston summers, even after three years!), you’ll probably find me with a good book, watching football, or making progress on my ever-growing “to be read” list. I’ve also started getting into scrapbooking as a fun way to slow down and capture memories away from screens. My friends, who I lovingly call my chosen family, and my family mean the world to me. They keep me grounded and remind me how important it is to find joy and light in everyday life. Nurturing these connections helps me show up more fully for my clients, meeting them with genuine presence, care, and understanding.
